Glossary
Below we have summarised the definitions of products we offer, but further info can be found on our website if required.
Casement windows are defined as windows that include panels (top hung or side hung) which open outwards and are attached to the frame by one or more hinges. Coral offers either double or triple glazed (size restrictions apply) options on standard casement windows.
Flush casement windows are casement windows but are characterised by openers that close into the frame and finish flush with the face of the window to replicate timber style windows. Coral flush casement windows are fully glazed with double glazed units.
Tilt and turn windows open on two axes: tilting inwards (remaining fixed at the base) when ventilation is needed or alternatively turning (opening fully) inwards. Coral tilt and turn windows are fully glazed with double glazed units.
Vertical sliding Sash windows don’t open on a hinge. A traditional ‘sliding sash’ window is usually made up of two sashes (that slide up and down), one in front and one behind, in vertical grooves, counterbalanced by weights on cords. Sliding sash can be opened at the top or bottom, or both. Modern designs tilt in and/or out for easy cleaning. Coral vertical sliding sash windows are fully glazed with double glazed units.
uPVC Doors have a frame and door leaf made of fully reinforced un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC). They can be glazed with PVC door panels, double glazed units or triple glazed units (size restrictions apply).
Composite doors have a classic appearance but feature modern advancements compared to traditional timber doors. Coral composite doors have a frame made of fully reinforced un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) but the door leaf combines a high definition smooth or grained GRP outer skin and an inner core of laminated veneer lumber encased with composite stiles and rails. Inox doors and Rock Doors are both types of composite door though differ slightly in terms of materials used.
French doors are a set of double doors, ordinarily glazed with full height double glazed units or triple glazed units (size restrictions apply). They can open inwards or outwards.
Inline patio doors are sliding doors that sit in a track and are designed to allow the door(s) to glide smoothly. You can choose between 2, 3 and 4 door configurations for an inline patio door. Inline patio doors are glazed with full height double glazed units.
Bi-fold doors are a type of door which opens by folding back in sections or so-called panels. They can open inwards or out and there are various configurations available depending on the width of opening they are going in to. At Coral we offer 2 types of bi-fold doors – we offer an aluminium option where the frame/track and door leaves are all made from Aluminium or a hybrid uPVC option which combines aluminium tracks with uPVC door leaves. On either option the door leaves are fully glazed with double glazed units.
Coral’s Premium Roof is a high-performance glass roof system for conservatories which provides high quality, reliability, and is highly configurable, making it the go-to solution for every conceivable glass conservatory roof design. Coral Premium roofs are fully glazed with double glazed units (various options offered in our Ambiance Conservatory roof glass range).
Coral’s Evo4 Roof is a hybrid conservatory roof offering all the benefits of a warm roof whilst offering customisable glass panel options wherever you need them. Evo4 is constructed from aluminium or insulated composite external panels and insulation. Its design is robust but stylish. The urban grey panels that form part of the Evo4 will add that all-important wow factor to your home.
Coral’s Ultraroof is the lightest and strongest tiled conservatory roof on the market. It is designed to sit on old or new window frames and doors; unlike other solid roofs, it never needs a tie bar. Whether you need a replacement conservatory roof – or are starting from the beginning – our Ultraroof tiled conservatory roofs will reward you with an interior space that’s light, bright, warm and comfortable.
